Group Hugg
Erik Huggers, BBC: the MIPCOM 2008 interview from James Martin on Vimeo.
An interview with BBC iPlayers' Erik Huggers on where he sees video on demand going next, amongst other things.
For the BBC's iPlayer the simplicity of full length programmes at a click appears to be working. But what next? Social online video anyone? We'll be interested to see what they come up with. Once dealing with long form video content rather than clips, the traditional YouTube "Awesome dude" comments structure becomes less relevant or useful. As he mentions the concept of "atomizing" content, we hope instead were going to see more of this kinda stuff (watchification.com), people recontextualising and keeping up with BBC content in their own online space.
